Scarlett Johansson Gets Her Star on the Walk of Fame
It’s a big week for Scarlett Johansson - not only is her new film “The Avengers” hitting theaters on Friday, but today (May 2) she received her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The “In Good Company” chick looked thrilled as she took to the podium at the ceremony located on Hollywood Boulevard while joined by her superhero co-star Jeremy Renner.
In a recent interview, Scarlett discussed the honor of being given the star, and how it came to be. “I don't know, actually. I think you're nominated. There's a committee... and, I guess, they nominate you and then you receive a star, which is very exciting for me. I was totally thrilled, of course, because I feel very nostalgic about that kind of thing. It's a wonderful tradition and I felt like I finally made it. I really did! I was, like, ‘Wow! I've been in the industry for twenty years and I've worked since I was a kid.’ It felt like a big milestone.”
As for her ‘neighbors’ on the Walk of Fame, Ms. Johansson replied, “No, I've no idea. I'm hoping not be outside one of those horrible shops on Hollywood Boulevard somewhere. I don't know how it works. But I'll find out, I guess. I'll be on the pavement with my hands and everything. It's funny.”
